Linda Rue's Professional Experience:
I began my professional counseling as a Financial Aid Adviser at the University of Minnesota. I was the College Counselor and Senior Class Dean at Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul Minnesota from 1990-1997, and the Director of College Counseling at the Savannah Country Day School and St. Andrew's School in Savannah, Georgia, from 1997-2003. I have worked professionally as an educational consultant in San Francisco with McClure, Mallory, and Baron (2003-2004) and as an Independent College Counselor since 2004. I presently consult with students and families in the greater Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as the Sacramento area in California. I have 22 full time years of experience as a college counselor and educational planner.
My previous experience includes both admissions and financial aid counseling at the University of Minnesota, as well as educational evaluation in the therapeutic milieu. I attended the University of Chicago and the University of Minnesota, hold an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Hamline University in St.Paul, Minnesota, where I also attended law school. I have extensive experience as a private educational counselor in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, working with college aged and professional school aged clients, as well as with students from many schools in the Savannah, Hilton Head and San Francisco Bay area. I specialize in researching scholarship opportunities for clients, working with students with special talents (such as athletics or fine art talents) and in helping seniors find their particular writing voice in the crafting of a college application. I am an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
Eden Rue's Professional Experience:
I have been involved in oceanographic scientific research and teaching since 1989. I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1995 and was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Environmental Science and Policy Department at California State University, Monterey Bay starting in 1996. For the past ten years, I have been teaching and developing science curriculum at various non-profit, public and private High Schools on the Monterey Bay Peninsula. I administer the Highlands Ability Battery and have developed comprehensive and personal tutoring courses for both the ACT and SAT college admissions tests.
